We’re just delighted to have been awarded the Scottish Tourist Board’s Four Stars for Self-Catering. It’s a great tribute to Joy, Steph and Kim who look after the Cottage, and to Steve and Paul who do the maintenance. And to the Cottage itself!
The star rating shows we pay attention to all the details, and it tells us how much we’ve come on since our last assessment four years ago. And it looks great on display in the porch below our Gold Award for Green Tourism!
Don’t tell anyone, but I quite like doing these applications because they always remind me about the things we can improve. The new extra-large shower is so much better than the old bathroom – we love it and so did our assessor from Visit Scotland. Applying for the Green Tourism Award reminded me to shout about our accessibility on our website, and indirectly led to us being a sponsor for Highland Pride. And sometimes it’s just small changes: the last Fire Risk Assessment prompted me to install a night-light and torch in the corridor.
But all these little changes add up, and make me really proud of the Cottage and the service Joy, Kim and Steph help me to provide our guests.
